Bakers Coaches delivers Anniversary pledge to the Royal British Legion.
As part of its 75th Anniversary celebrations, Bakers Coaches have promised to hand over 11 percent of the revenue income, takings from the local Bakerbus services operating on 11th November 2011.
The proceeds for the day were £350 and Mr Nick Oldfield, representing the North Staffordshire branch of the Royal British Legion, together with the Biddulph co-ordinator, Mrs Elaine Rice were invited to the Coach Travel Centre on Friday to receive the cheque.
Mr Philip Baker, Managing Director of Bakerbus made the pledge to guests attending the company’s Anniversay celebration day, which coincided with Remembrance Day.
In his welcome speech Mr Bakers said: “We owe a debt to the military and in particular those young people who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country and the way of life we enjoy today.”
“There are several Army regiments and TA Units in North Staffs and Cheshire and any service personnel carrying their Military ID are entitled to use Bakerbus services, free of charge.”
