Local recognition for service in public transport

Bakers Coaches of Biddulph has been praised for its service quality by ACES – a group which represents public transport users in the Potteries and North Staffs.

The recognition came in the form of a certificate for ‘Service in Public Transport 2009’ which is now posted in the company’s Coach Travel Centre reception along with other accolades the company has won for its customer service.

The award for 2009 covers headquarters staff as well as drivers for both coach travel and its local bus service operations. The presentation was made at the bus station in Newcastle under Lyme by Councillor Phil Maskery, Portfolio holder for Safer and Stronger Communities.

Commenting on the award to Bakers Coaches, ACES coordinator, Selwyn Brown said. “The comments we received in our survey were so enthusiastic, that it began to look as if Bakers customers and service passengers are more like a fan club!

“Everyone mentions the friendly, efficient attitude displayed by all the staff at Bakers. And that includes, drivers office staff, those who answer the phone and deal with bookings for holidays and day trips.

In response Managing Director Phil Baker said, “As a service organisation, our training is focused on delivering customer satisfaction, and we are delighted therefore to receive such a public endorsement for the day-to-day professionalism shown by our staff.”
