NEW VEHICLE AND MORE FREQUENT SERVICES IN AND AROUND CREWE
The operation of THE HARRIER service D1, formerly run by Harrier Travel Limited, is now part of an expanding bakerbus network covering Sandbach, Haslington and Crewe. A new, low more passenger friendly bus has been introduced with additional seating capacity and low floor easy access. The new bus should be recognisable as the HARRIER branding has been incorporated into the striking bakerbus livery colours of yellow over blue bands - now a common sight around South Cheshire.
The timetable is largely unchanged, but additional journeys between Sandbach, Haslington and Crewe have been added, in combination with the X38 - another new bakerbus service. Extra journeys have been added in the middle of the day, during peak periods and on Saturdays.
"The new X38 service links Biddulph with Sandbach and Crewe, via Congleton.
The service offers journey options ideal for commuting or shopping trips to Sandbach and Crewe," explains managing director, Phil Baker. "We expect this to be very popular with people visiting the famous Sandbach Market, held each Thursday and Saturday."
As the bakerbus network continues to expand, passengers can take advantage of the connections serving Biddulph, Hanley, Newcastle and Leek, as well as in Congleton, with bakerbus services to and from Macclesfield.
Another route, being operated by bakerbus on behalf of Cheshire East Council, is the 32 Service which runs between Sandbach and Crewe, via Warmingham. Passengers with 'All Day', 'Day Return' and 'Ten Trip' tickets can travel between common points on any of the D1 or X38 services and between Sandbach and Crewe with service 32. That is, out by one route and back via another.
Other services now being run by bakerbus for Cheshire County Council include the 9 Service running Monday to Saturday evening between Crewe and Willaston.
