Biddulph based bakerbus has been appointed by Cheshire County Council to operate the 392 - 393 bus service, providing an hourly daytime frequency linking Macclesfield and Poynton with Stockport. The revamped service has been branded as 'The Shuttle' in recognition of the region's historical links with the mills of the silk and cotton industries.
The service will integrate with other bakerbus routes enabling connections with Biddulph and Congleton. For further details see www.bakerbus.com
New buses have been introduced on the Shuttle route, offering comfortable seating with easy access, low floor entrance and space for a wheel chair or child's buggy.
Commenting on the new service, Managing Director of bakerbus Phil Baker said:
"We are pleased to work with Cheshire County Council to deliver an improved service that will offer a practical alternative to commuters who are currently using private cars for these busy routes.
"We are looking forward to continually developing these services, not only for the travelling public but also to help improve the environment as we have done on other routes we operate in Cheshire and Staffordshire."
